The NSW Government's Active Kids program is designed to help families get their children involved in sport and physical activity. Each eligible school-enrolled child can receive vouchers to put towards the cost of registration and membership fees at approved sporting organisations — and the great news is that the Illawarra International Judo Club accepts Active Kids vouchers.
To apply for an Active Kids voucher, you'll need a Service NSW account. If you don't have one, it's free and straightforward to set up through the Service NSW website or app. Once you're logged in, you can apply for your child's voucher through the Active Kids section. You'll need your child's details and their school information. The voucher is then generated as a unique code that you can provide to us when registering.
Redeeming your voucher at IIJC is simple. When you're ready to sign your child up, just let us know you have an Active Kids voucher and provide the code. We'll apply it directly to your child's membership fees, reducing the out-of-pocket cost for your family. It's a genuinely helpful saving, especially if you have more than one child keen to get on the mat.
Judo is a fantastic way for kids in the Illawarra to stay active, build confidence, and learn valuable life skills like discipline and respect — all while having a great time. The Active Kids voucher makes it even more accessible, removing one of the barriers that can sometimes stop families from giving a new sport a go.
If you'd like to see whether judo is the right fit for your child before committing, we offer a free trial class with no booking required. Just bring your child along in comfortable clothing, and our instructors will make them feel right at home. You can sort out the Active Kids voucher and registration afterwards, once you've seen the smiles on the mat for yourself.
